Prescott Valley, AZ – The Arizona Sundogs announced today they have signed Swedish forward, Henric Hoglund for the 2013-14 Central Hockey League Season.
Hoglund expressed, “It is a dream, come true for me to finally get a chance to come to North America to play hockey. I am so happy to join the Arizona Sundogs Hockey Team and am so thankful for this opportunity.”
Hoglund 35, has spent his 18 year career playing with teams all across Europe. He began his professional career in 1995 playing for the Hammaro HC for two seasons, collecting 13 goals and seven assists for 20 points in 49 games. His best season came in 2011-12 while playing for Vita Hasten in Sweden where he also served as their alternate captain. That season he tallied 32 goals and 39 assists for 71 points in 41 games and held the record for most goals, points and best plus/minus rating in Division 1.
In 2008 the 6-foot-3, right winger won the Norwegian Championship while playing for Storhamar where he collected 13 points in 15 playoff games. The following season he was named Norway NISO Hockey Player of the Year, held the record for most goals and points and was named to the 2008-09 Norwegian All-Star Team. That year he tallied 36 goals, 33 assists for 69 points in 45 games.
Last season while playing in Sweden and Denmark, Hoglund put up 13 goals and eight assists for 21 points in 46 games. Overall his career record is 325 goals and 273 assists for 598 points in 727 games.
