Prescott Valley, AZ – The Arizona Sundogs announced today that veteran Jason Morgan has signed with the team for the 2012-13 Central Hockey League Season.

Morgan 35, of St. John’s Newfoundland will begin his 15th pro season. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings, fifth round, 118th overall, for the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. He has played in 44 NHL games throughout the span of his career for such teams as the LA Kings, Calgary Flames, Nashville Predators, Chicago Blackhawks and the Minnesota Wild. Morgan has collected 7 points (2 goals and 5 assists) during his time in the NHL.

The 6’1, 210-lb Center has spent most of his time in the AHL having laced up for 584 games and amassing an astonishing 112 goals and 213 assists for 325 points. His best season came in 2002-03 while playing for the Saint John Flames of the AHL. That year he tallied 53 points (13 goals and 40 assists) in 80 games. 2007-08 was also a stand-out year for Morgan having played in 74 games with 19 points and 25 assists. That season he also had his second highest +/- rating of +11.

In 2008 Morgan decided to head overseas and played for Sodertalje SK of Sweden where he had 11 points (3 goals and 8 assists) in 49 games. He spent his 2009-10 season in Austria playing in 24 games scoring 6 points (1 goal and 5 assists).

Last season he played with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, collecting 11 points (2 goals and 9 assists) in 29 games.
